Of all of his music accomplishments, he enjoys playing with Simply

in a group called the Bently Hillbillys. “There is nothing better that playing the music you love with your family and
dear friends. Yea that’s as good as it gets!” I am sure the professionalism and talent of Simply Black & White
will shine through as you enjoy their music.
Tony Burns -
Tony Burns is one of the greatest guitar players anywhere around and is an incredible
addition to Simply Black & White ! He has performed all over the north and south, recorded, played on the Grand Ole Opry,
and was an original member of Homegrown with John Frost, Sr., Harold Fogel, Danny White, Ray Frost, and Johnny McClaran. They
recorded together in the highlight of southern rock n roll and were always crowd pleasers no matter where they went.
And a big part of why, was the screaming guitar work of Tony Burns ! Tony has had many wonderful experiences with all the
greats he has played with over the years, but with his driving guitar leads, I am sure that we haven't even begun to see
what Tony has yet to bring to the stage performances of Simply Black & White!
Laura Vance -
“If you
throw a rock in Nashville, chances are you’ll hit a singer. We’re everywhere.”
That’s the reality according to singer-songwriter Laura Vance, a Virginia native, who like so many other dreamers
made her way to Nashville to do music. She attended Belmont and graduated in December 2006 with two degrees,
one in Commercial Music and one in Music Business.
Encouraged early on
by her family, Laura sang regularly in Church, school, and community choirs, learning an early appreciation for all genres
of music from classical and jazz to rock, country to pop, and Contemporary Christian to R&B. While
she wrote songs in her early teens, it wasn’t until she arrived at Belmont that she realized the importance of writing
songs, not only to the livelihood of singers and songwriters alike, but to the genuine expression of feeling and emotion and
communication between performer and audience.
Upon graduation, Laura began
and completed her first four-song project, what she considers to be the culmination of different experiences and lessons learned,
set to music. “It’s just the beginning,” she says. “So long
as there are people in the world experiencing something – anything, there’s a song to write.”
And while she’s writing, she also takes every opportunity to sing. In January
2008, Laura auditioned for Simply Black and White and won a spot in the band. “Exceptional
players, great songs, a mic, a stage, and an audience – what more could I ask for?”
Nothing really.
